I’m starting to trim my own Russian tortoises beak because I have taken him to the vet multiple times for dremels but they just dremel off a small amount and it ends up being still overgrown by the time they’re done. I just wanted to check my work and make sure I’m doing it correctly. I have been using a variety of nail clippers, toe nail clippers, and cuticle cutters. He is very good for the clipping but refuses to stay if I try to file it so I plan on taking him in October to the vet to get it dremeled. Attached are before and after pictures. How much farther would I have to go on trimming because I’m having a bit of an issue trimming it now because one side of the beak is 2x thicker than the other for some reason so it is hard to get leverage? Did I do a decent job or is did I make a mistake or need improvement? Thank you.
