Medi-Dose and EPS have announced the launch of a specialized “Requires PPE Precautions” label designed to help pharmacies and infusion centers comply with stringent USP <800> guidelines. The product addresses Section 5.3.2 of the USP <800> standards. This regulation mandates that any non-hazardous drug prepared in a containment primary engineering control used for hazardous drugs must be placed in a protective outer wrapper and clearly labeled to require personal protective equipment during handling. According to Medi-Dose/EPS, the new labels provide healthcare professionals with a simple and economical solution to ensure medication safety, prevent errors, and adhere to essential compounding procedures.


CVS Pharmacy Begins Dispensing Veterinary Prescriptions Nationwide

CVS Health has announced that its roughly 9,000 pharmacy locations across the U.S. are now dispensing common prescription medications for dogs and cats. Veterinary practices can authorize prescriptions by contacting CVS directly or providing clients with written scripts for pet-specific therapeutics, including antibiotics, allergy treatments, parasiticides, insulin, and pain relievers. These prescriptions are eligible for standard CVS pharmacy services, such as automatic refills and prescription syncing. The company also noted that electronic prescribing capabilities for veterinary practices will be rolled out in the coming months.


Roo Launches Veterinary Staffing Intelligence Platform

Roo has launched its Analytics Center, marking the industry’s first intelligence platform dedicated to veterinary relief staffing. The new tool is designed to help veterinary hospitals strategically manage their flexible workforce by turning relief coverage data into actionable, measurable growth. Veterinary hospitals have historically lacked visibility into how relief shifts impact overall productivity and revenue. According to Roo, the Analytics Center addresses this blind spot by providing data insights across single or multiple clinic locations. The tool allows hospital leaders to monitor staffing productivity, track shift fill rates, analyze cancellation trends, and identify critical staffing gaps.


Inventory Ally Announces NectarVet Integration

Inventory management software Inventory Ally has announced an integration with NectarVet, an AI-native practice management system. The partnership connects NectarVet’s daily consumption data directly to Inventory Ally’s replenishment engine, enabling veterinary practices to automate stock tracking and use predictive purchasing analytics based on actual usage. The integration equips hospitals with automated replenishment, dynamic reorder points, prioritized cycle counts, and detailed data on product margins and turnover frequency. The integration is now available to active users.


Exubrion Therapeutics Appoints Chief Commercial Officer

Exubrion Therapeutics, the manufacturer of the canine osteoarthritis treatment Synovetin OA, has promoted Gregory Taglialatela to chief commercial officer. Taglialatela will direct the company’s commercial strategy, national sales, key account management, and business development efforts. Taglialatela brings over 15 years of animal health experience to the role and has been with Exubrion since 2022, most recently serving as national account director.

Study Details Credelio Quattro Tick Kill Speed

Elanco Animal Health has shared new peer-reviewed data in Parasites & Vectors evaluating the efficacy of Credelio Quattro against tick infestations. According to the study, the chewable tablet significantly reduced black-legged ticks within eight hours of treatment. Researchers noted that this speed of kill was maintained through day 28 of the dosing period without statistical drop-off. The study compared the product to Simparica Trio and NexGard Plus, finding Credelio Quattro achieved faster initial kill rates against black-legged and lone star ticks.
